New builds, rebuilds and repairs in lumber or composite, framed to carry Buffalo snow load.

Spring to fall work, part of our Build & Hardscape programme, and deck building runs on the same schedule and the same invoice as everything else on the property.

Snow sits on a deck in this region for months, not days. Joist spacing, beam sizing and footing depth all change once you design for that rather than for how the deck looks in July, and a deck framed to a warmer standard will sag long before the boards wear out.
Footings go below frost line on every deck we build, so the structure does not lift and drop each year and pull the ledger away from the house. Snow load figures for Erie and Niagara counties come from the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute. The framing is the part you pay for, the boards are the part you see.
From a simple platform off the back door to a multi level build with a covered section.
Capped composite does not splinter, does not need staining and holds its colour. It costs more to install and costs nothing to maintain, which is why most new builds go this way.
The most affordable way to get a solid deck. It wants cleaning and sealing every couple of years, and if that happens it lasts a long time.
Better looking than treated pine and naturally more resistant. A middle option on price with a much better finish straight out of the build.
Where the grade drops away or the space needs zoning, stepping the deck works better than one large platform sitting high off the ground.
Timber, composite, aluminum or cable. Stairs and rails take the most abuse and are the most common reason an otherwise sound deck fails inspection.
If the frame is sound the boards can often be replaced without rebuilding. We will tell you honestly which one you are looking at.
A deck here carries a real winter load, and the framing has to be sized for it rather than for how it looks in July. Joist spacing, beam sizing and footing depth all change once you account for snow sitting on it for months.
Footings go below frost line. A deck on shallow footings lifts and drops every year until the ledger board pulls away from the house, which is both expensive and dangerous.

We run deck building across Buffalo and 31 towns through Erie and Niagara counties. If your street is not on the list, call anyway. The edge of the route moves with whatever is already booked nearby, and one or two neighbours is usually enough to make a street work.

Most people book deck building alongside one or two of these. Putting them on a single agreement schedules better and prices better than booking each job separately, and you deal with one crew and one invoice for the whole property rather than chasing three contractors.
